  6. Basic Photography skills are critical for anyone who consider himself/herself a journalist • Pictures provide information • The information must be captured & presented in a correct way

  7. Digital Photography Editing • Get organized • You can use Flicker & Picasa for online storage & organization • Backup your photos • Provide use full names-include date • Editing – become familiar with a program like Photoshop that allows you to size, crop and tone

Guideline for editing • Never edit the original • Just in case editing goes wrong • Resize pictures • E.g. for blogs you need a smaller & low resolution pictures. • Crop the unnecessary things • Save a Web version • Compress & reduce the size without lowing the quality • Maintain the integrity of photo • Do not add/remove things

  10. Publish photo on your blog • Publish photos online and share • Wrap text around the photo • Explain the photo in the text or at least refer to it • Make a slideshow • Use • Use captions & useful tags to tell a story
