Energy Group Purpose
  • Providing the CWLEP Board and its partner organisations advice and access to specialist expertise, best practice and investment opportunities in sustainable energy generation and supply, low carbon infrastructure and the development and integration of innovative low carbon technologies.  Specific support is provided by the Energy Group to assist the CWLEP in:
            • Attracting inward investment to create jobs and growth
            • Delivering apprenticeships and skills
            • Reducing business operating costs through energy efficiency & sustainable practices
            • Enabling the local supply chain to deliver green growth
            • Supporting green innovation and new business development
            • Influencing regulatory change to support the CWLEP Energy Group priorities
            • Regional collaboration with LEPs to maximise investment opportunities

            • Energy generation including renewables and district heating
            • Smart grid and energy infrastructure
            • Energy reduction and efficiency in commercial and residential buildings
            • Low energy commercial and residential new build properties
