  5. Why are these collaborative relationships important? BENEFITS FOR FACULTY: attracting and retaining the most able and highly committed students to their programs. BENEFITS FOR COUNSELLORS: Collaboration provides avenues for our services to be more deeply embedded in the academic culture

Roles & Outcomes • Roles • Interactive: Facilitative / consultative / participatory vs prescriptive / teaching • Outcomes • Provide a workspace for counselling staff to reflect on and plan for new strategies in engaging with academic staff. • To facilitate an exchange and cross-pollination of ideas to empower and equip.
