Evolution of TeCHO+(Technology Enabled Community Health Operations) • Janani project (2008) in Mansa • E-mamta • ImTeCHO (2013-now) in Bharuch, Narmada and Valsad in partnership with SEWA Rural( NGO) and Argusoft India Ltd ( Software Comp) • TeCHO+ - launched by Hon. PM on 8th Oct. 2017 for state wide implementation

  3. Evaluation of TeCHO+ • Randomized trial done from 2016 to 2017 by SEWA Rural with the help of Government of Gujarat, ICMR and WHO. • 61% increase in postnatal care of new-born babies, • 52% increase in cases of exclusive breast feeding and • 16% reduction in infant mortality rate

Mobile phone as job aid to ANM and ASHA to increase coverage MNCH care • Longitudinal, digital tracking of pregnant women and infants’ health status and services • Scheduling and activity planning in form of reminder to ANMs to plan for village health and nutrition day (VHND) • Decision support in form of digital checklist to encourage ANMs/ASHAs to adhere to protocols during home visits.

Unique features of TeCHO+ RCH module (compared to other applications) • Life cycle approach with family health survey • Triage, videos and alerts • AAA Concept: Work plan/Alerts according to ASHA/village/anganwadi • Effective migration module • Field trial done, pilot tested and based on research evidence

Role of GVK EMRI Helpline at call center at HQ • First level contact for any issue. • Escalation of issues as & when needed to respective stakeholders. • Outbound calls to beneficiaries for drop outs, for validation and quality check of service provided and high risk tracking/referral management Field level coordinators • Handholding & individual tutoring of ANM if required. • Problem solving • Asset (Phone+SIM) management • User management • Ensure optimal use of TeCHO app. for real time data entry

  11. Future plans • Add Interactive Voice Response (eg. Kilkari) for demand generation • Add NCD, communicable diseases and mental health • Develop IT platform for health and wellness center • Explore integration with other health IT platforms for synergy
