  6. Shelac: Used to produce a shine. • Polyurethane: Hard plastic coating to prevent damage to paint. Shelacvs Polyurethane:

  7. Latex: water based, inexpensive. • Dry Pigment: mixed with glue or water- when dry, will not flake. • Scene Paint: Pre-mixed Dry Pigment paint, will not absorb light. Paint Types:

  8. Painting in an X pattern for a full, even finish. Good to use when base-coating a new flat. Crosshatching:

  9. Pouncing motion on a flat with a feather duster for a neat texture. Feather Dusting:

  10. Texturing items:

  11. Taking excess paint out of the brush to give a streaky, grainy appearance for wood-graining and other textures. Dry Brushing:

  12. Stamping with a sponge for texture- bricks. Stippling:

  13. Flipping paint drops onto a flat to give it depth. Spattering:
