  3. College • What should I pursue in college? • Engineer • Doctor • Lawyer • Other professional • How long will it take? • Bachelors Degree = 4 years / ~120 hrs • Masters Degree • Doctorate • When should I start? • Begin now • CLEP • Study those areas that will benefit your plan

  4. College • Junior / Community College • Pros/Cons • Program Guide • University • Pros/Cons • Program Guide

  5. Trade / Skill • Trade Schools • 1-2 years depending on the trade • Apprentice • cost less • practical experience • Online training • becoming more popular, especially for IT / computer skills • Personal research • Less popular trades • Gunsmith • Taxidermy • Hunting guide

  6. Entrepreneur • Start your own business • Most start-up businesses do not show a profit within the first year • Start-up cost • Product / Service you offer • Market for the product / service • Training may be required

  7. Government Service • Military • Law Enforcement • Fire Fighter • Government agencies • USDA • FBI • Park Service / Ranger

  8. Ministry / Mission (abroad) • Short Term • Long Term • Pray for the Lord’s leading in this area

Don’t Forget • Start when your young • Don’t waste time • You are not too young to be thinking about the future • Some skills transcend all areas • Computer literacy / typing • Public speaking • Problem solving • It’s OK to change your mind – but not much • It’s OK to not have a decision yet – but definitely be thinking about it

  10. What to do? • Go home and ask your parents or those closest to you what skills or talents they think you possess. • Ask them what your good at and how you should use this ability. • Begin to pray that the Lord will lead you in this area.
