  1. What is the Bible

  2. It is the most preserved work of literature in our history.

  3. The History Bible Translations developed for Catholic use are complete bibles. This means that they contain the entire canonical text which was approved by the Ecumenical Council of Trent. The nineteenth Ecumenical Council opened at Trent on December 13th, 1545 and closed on December 4th, 1963. It began with Pope Paul III, passed on toPope Julius III and ended with Pope Pius IV

  4. The History The fact this council was divided into sessions that lasted 18 years shows us that the topics discussed were of critical importance to the Church. This council was created for many reasons and while Church leaders focused on different aspects of Catholic faith, there was a focus on discussing the doctrine of our Church; The Holy Bible

  5. The Books Divided into two testaments Old Testament: which has 46 books/chapters New Testament which has 27 books/chapters

  6. Grade 10 religion course will focus in a more specific way on the following two sections of the bible: The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John located in the New Testament. The Parables of Jesus Christ located in the New Testament.

  7. The Books There are different styles of writing: 1. Poetry 4. History 2. Narration 5. Law 3. Fiction 6. Prophecy

  8. The Bible Contains the words of God and how Christians are to apply those words to their life. More details: - Describes the creation of man and woman, Original Sin- How God called out people to do his will. Noah, Sarah andAbraham, Moses, Mary.

  9. The Bible The bible talks about the coming of the Messiah who would restore our relationship with God, nature and with each other. The coming of Christ: Jesus was born of the Virgin, died on the cross, and paid for our sins. Stories of this nature are prophesized in the Old Testament but only realized in the New Testament.

  10. The Bible The Bible looks to the Messiah for the word of God "You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that bear witness of Me," (John 5:39). Forgiveness is found through Jesus, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved,” (Acts 4:12).

  11. The Bible Many say that the bible is nothing more than stories and tales, however some ague that is not so because of its readings of great wisdom and truth. Through history it has been confirmed as accurate. Historians and Archaeologists demonstrate biblical records, locations, events, artifacts in times of Jesus that believe to put meaning and accuracy to the stories of the bible. (Symbolic Truths)
