  2. Medusa We all know Medusa as the ugly woman with snakes as hair, but Medusa was not always ugly. It all started with Medusa wanting to visit the south. She wanted to see the sun. So, she went and asked for Athena’s permission. Athena refused. Medusa was very angry and dared to say that Athena was jealous of her beauty. Athena punished Medusa by turning her hair into snakes and made her so ugly that when someone looked her their eyes would turn to stone.

  3. The Gorgons The Gorgons are three very powerful sisters. They were so ugly , that if a person looked at them they were turned to stone in an instant. They are winged daemons, which is a supernatural being of a nature between gods and humans. Their names were Medusa, Sthenno, and Euryale. The only mortal sister was Medusa. They are creatures covered with impenetrable scales, with living snakes as hair, hands made of brass, sharp fangs and a beard. They guard the entrance to the underworld.

  4. Nymph A nymph is a nature goddess that populated the cosmos. Nymphs were ranked below the gods, but they were still invited to attend assemblies of the gods on Mount Olympus. They are responsible for the care of plants and animals. They were closely associated with gods of nature such as Hermes, Dionysus, Artemis, Poseidon and Demeter..

  5. Echidna Echidna is a female monster consisting of half nymph and half speckled snake. Echidna lives in a cave and comes out to snatch those who are passing by her cave. This creature is ageless, but it is not immortal. While sleeping, the creature was killed by Argus Panoptes.
