ACADEMY LEVELS 4 & 5 OVERVIEW Our Academy has a strong High School program with two separate levels depending on the level of development, including advanced players that are Freshmen to Varsity members on the High School Team, and every level in between. Whether your destination is High School Tennis or State Tournaments or both, our top Academy Levels have the right fit for you. ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL 4 TEAM Advanced (Ages 14-18) Level 4 is the next link in the Academy level chain. This group is for the advanced High School player who is playing GA Level 4’s & 5’s and plans on trying out for their High School tennis team. New challenges like an expanded fitness program and Hi-Tempo rallying are introduced as well as tougher testing criteria. This level strikes a nice balance between hard work and fun as players at this level work to advance their groundstroke consistency, serve/return consistency and point play. ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL 5 STATE Advanced (Ages 14-18) Our highest Academy level is home to many Varsity and Jr Varsity players in the area. Players in this level compete in many higher Level 2 State tournaments as well as play during the High School tennis season. Emphasis is placed on point play, doubles strategy and conditioning as players keep their skills sharp all year long. This level is for the serious player, so expect strong workouts & solid discipline. As with the other Academy Levels, a Skills test is needed to pass each Tier and proceed to the next level. When a player has established a solid mastery of the skill set and has posted a significant win record over the others in the group, they will begin the “Tween” process to the next group. 2. Your Home for High School Tennis Join us at Windward Tennis Academy, where we specialize in junior tennis development. Our progressions method is not only proven to ensure early success, but is also fun for kids of all levels. Academy Levels 4 & 5 are for the High School player. Some are still active on their Jr ALTA/USTA Jr tennis teams, while others are playing tournaments in between High School tennis. Academy 4 & 5 are ideal as they help players keep their skills sharp all school year long, regardless of where they compete. The metro Atlanta area is packed with top tennis players, so playing High School tennis is not an easy proposition.
