  2. What is “Accessing Campus Computer Resources From Home and Away”? Using a computer at an off-campus location toaccess campus computer resources andInformation Technology services. This is sometimes also referred to as “remote computer access”.

  3. What is an Off-Campus Location? Anywhere off the Truman campus where you are not directly connected to the Truman computer network

  4. What Can I Access Remotely? • Pickler Library Databases http://library.truman.edu/databases/general.htm • Network Drives (W:, Y: etc) • Network Printers • Email with Outlook (or your favorite email client, Thunderbird, Eudora, Mac Mail etc). No more OWA. • Your Work Computer System Note: The speed of your Internet connection may limit the resources you can access

  5. What Do I Need? • You must be a current Truman faculty, staff or student. • Your off-campus computer must have Internet access. • If your Internet connection is dial-up, due to its slow speed you can use the library databases by using the TrumanProxy Server, but you will NOT be able to use many other campus computing resources remotely. • If your Internet connection is broadband (a high speed Internet connection) you can use the library databases and other campus computing resources remotely by using the Truman VPN Service.
