Final Exam, Tests, Extra Credit • Final exam and Tests • Dates are posted in calendar • Closed book and closed notes • Scientific calculator only, no graphing calculator or phones or other electronic devices • Sample tests are posted in ETUDES > Resources • Extra credits (Maximum: 3 points) • Available in MyMathLab • Can be opened only by students who finishes online homework on time with scores of 80% or higher • Also available for students who post an avatar or picture in their ETUDES profile. Online Homework and Portfolio • Online homework • Available in MyMathLab • At the end, the average is multiplied by 1.1. • 10% will be deducted from any homework problem turned in after it is due • Online homework portfolio • Write all the steps needed to complete each problem in online homework • If no steps are needed, just write the answer • Label each chapter, section, and question • Staple each chapter and put them inside a report cover (not a binder) • Turn them in during on-campus tests Instructor: Anne Siswanto

Participation • Discussion posting • Available in ETUDES • Consists of six (6) required topics • Posting in Q&A is optional, but recommended • Weekly online quizzes • Available in MyMathLab • Always due on Wednesday, one day after the homework is due • Can be taken unlimited number of times by their due dates and only the highest score counts • No need to turn in portfolio for the quizzes Instructor: Anne Siswanto

Lecture Notes • Prior to each class and before turning in the extra credit, students should take notes from one of these or from a combination of • Online interactive e-book • Power Point Lectures • Camtasia lecture videos • Each objective should consist of two examples • Do not turn in notes which you take in class • Staple each chapter and put them inside a report cover (not a binder) • Turn them in during on-campus tests TIPS: Use Multimedia Library in MyMathLab to find the videos, e-book, power point • Take notes, repeat, pause, as needed.   12. How to Study • Watch the Camtasia lecture videos, power point, or interactive E-Book for each section • Take NOTES while watching. Only turn in notes which are done outside classroom • Do the online homework. • You can always correct your mistake (by clicking “similar exercise”) and improve your scores even after the due dates. • Remember to show NEAT work for your online homework portfolio. • Do extra credit. • Important: to open an online extra credit, you need 80% or higher on all homework. • You can submit the extra credit up to three (3) times and only the highest score counts. Is This Class Right For You? • Did you do well in Intermediate Algebra or College Algebra? • Have you taken math recently? • Are you good at learning math on your own? • Are you good with using technology? • Can you manage your time well?
