Assessment Requirements • All students must pass the Georgia High School Graduation Writing Test (GHSGWT) to be eligible for a diploma • All students are required to pass courses associated with the End of Course Test (EOCT), with the EOCT being 20% of the course grade • EOCT Courses include: • 9th Lit Algebra Biology US History Amer Lit Geometry Physical Sci Economics
General Information • 6 classes taken each semester • Report cards given each 9 weeks (2 mid-semester and 2 end-semester • Grades are cumulative until end of semester. • Grades at the end of a semester are final and recorded on transcript • 1 satisfied unit of Math, English, and Science is required to enter a sophomore homeroom
Extracurricular Activities • Students entering the 9th grade for the first time are eligible to participate in all competitive extra curricular activities. • Students must pass 5 of 6 courses • each semester and be on track to • graduate to remain eligible.
Freshman Academy • Any student failing 9th lit, biology, or algebra will be in FA • This will be a study hall/remediation time period • Grade checks every 2weeks • If all grades are passing at the grade check, then the student will not be in FA
