Strategic Alliances • Have been around for as long as businesses have existed • Phoenician merchants set up joint ventures to limit their risks in overseas trade • In recent years we have seen a surge in the number of alliances  • Leading firms are changing the way they do business beyond their corporate boundaries IACT 901 Module 5
