  4. Examples from last year • Service: TAFE has adopted the Carl Levin Park trails through the City of Harker Heights’ Adopt-a-Spot program and made the news with our efforts to beautify this part of our city!

  5. More examples… • Leadership: Last May, TAFE officers and Ms. Lee spent a weekend at Highland Lake Camp and Conference Center on Lake Travis enjoying the outdoors, learning valuable leadership skills and eating smores!

  6. Fundraising like a boss… • ULTIMATE HOT DOGS aka TAFE dogs!

  7. Even more fun! • At the end of the year, we celebrated our seniors…there may have been singing…

  8. Now for a little history… • TAFE has been around since 1984, before then it was simply FEA (Future Educators Association). • FEA has been around since the 1930s and offers many scholarship opportunities for affiliated members • As a CTSO (Career and Technology Student organization), TAFE students have many more scholarships possibilities now, than ever before!

  9. I’ve heard you guys travel a lot… • We do get out, yes. In the fall, we attend our regional conference and competition. With over 20 areas in which you can compete, there is something for everyone! • In February, we head down to San Antonio for the weekend and live it up at the Teach Tomorrow Summit (aka State conference and competition). You can win scholarships at the state level!

  10. National Future Educators Association • If you qualify at the State level to compete at nationals, the competition is in April in Minneapolis, Minnesota! • Let’s go to Nationals this year!

  11. A few pictures from state…
