  1. Biography PowerPoint Presentation

  2. Guidelines • Presentation must be 4-8 minutes • You can use 6 notecards for your presentation • You must have 20 or fewer words per notecard • Questions to answer: • Why did you select this person? • Explain 5 life changing events in this person’s life. • Do you consider this person a role model? Why? • Did you find this person to be interesting? Why?

  3. PowerPoint • You need at least 8 slides (not counting your title slide) • You must have 20 or fewer words per slide. The words on your slides should be key words. You want your audience to listen to you, not read your PowerPoint. • Your slides should be used more as a visual. Pictures should be relevant to what you are talking about in your presentation.

  4. PowerPoint • You may have to think “outside the box.” Some people will have access to more pictures than others. What other visuals could you use? • “Life Lesson” Your last slide must be a “Life Lesson” you could learn from your person. Is there a “quality” this person possesses you could learn from? Is there a specific experience in this person’s life you could learn from?

  5. Presentation Guidelines • Attention Getter – create an introduction in a creative way to gain attention of audience. (interesting fact, statistic, quote, question, etc) • Speak in good volume, showing enthusiasm, interest, and fluctuation in your voice. • Make good eye contact with your audience. Do NOT read off your PowerPoint! Always face your audience.

  6. Presentation • Poise – you should practice and have a good presence. Be confident in yourself! • Provide information you think will be interesting to your audience. You want to thoroughly teach your audience about your person. • Lasting Impression – Leave your audience thinking about your topic. This could be an interesting fact, statistic, quote, question, etc. (this should happen after your “Life Lesson” slide) Make the final slide your works cited page. Cite 5 sources you used; one of the 5 is your book.

  7. Presentation • Extra Credit: You can dress-up as the person you are presenting for extra credit. Be creative! • Have fun with the presentation!
