  1. ZANDVLIET ESTATE ESTATE HISTORY “Home of Champions” Home to the De Wet family since 1867. Four generations of dedicated farmers who have contributed to the enduring reputation for top quality wines and pedigree racehorses. Today, it is brothers Paul and Dan de Wet who continue to combine traditional wisdom and modern expertise in unlocking the earth’s bounty. Zandvliet was one of the first South African producers to bottle Shiraz – the farm is very well known for its Shiraz.

ZANDVLIET ESTATE OUR WINEMAKER – ETTIENNE MALAN Assisted by Paul de Wet “Between Zandvliet and Shiraz there is a romance” – the late Paulie de Wet announced in 1979 at the launch of the first Vintage. Shiraz specialist Ettienne Malan joined the Zandvliet team in July 2010. With the immense expertise of Cellar Master Paul de Wet and Viticulturist Dan de Wet (4th generation winemaking brothers), continuity is guaranteed and the romance will flourish!

ZANDVLIET ESTATE • EXPORT MARKETS • Netherlands • Our biggest market • Kalkveld, Zandvliet, Le Bistro, My Best Friend • Cogmanskloof range exclusively for The Netherlands • One distribution agent; one of the biggest & best in The Netherlands • We have been doing business with them for 15 years • Agent has their own full-time sales force of 16 people • Wines sold only in Restaurants and wine bars • We visit the Importer’s own Trade Show once per year • Other visits to The Netherlands when in Europe for other shows for meetings to discuss product range, pricing etc.

ZANDVLIET ESTATE • EXPORT MARKETS • Germany • Our next biggest market • Kalkveld, Zandvliet , Le Bistro, My Best Friend • Wines for their own brand • Tenders e.g. Lufthansa • One distribution agent; family owned business, now run by two brothers • We have been doing business with them for 15 years • Importer has 2 full-time Sales Managers and then agents in each area in Germany • Wine sold to restaurants and wine retailers • We support them on their stand at Prowein each year • 1 – 2 weeks of Trade visits in the market with the agents each year • Other visits to Germany when in Europe for other shows for meetings to discuss product range, pricing etc.
