Gather the necessary supplies and tools You can buy a complete ding repair kit or prefer buying the following items one by one: Safety mask and goggles Sandpaper Masking tape Fiberglass cloth Wax comb Knife Q-Cell Sanding resin and catalyst Acetone Paintbrush Remove the rotten or damaged area and clean it Check for the rotten or damaged areas on your surfboard and remove them properly. You need to clean the area very well in order to use the wax comb and remove any remaining wax. You may need acetone to remove some particles of wax from the rotten area. Protect the surrounding area using a masking tape It will help you protect the remaining area by containing the repair works and minimizing the sanding you need.
