    4. Interpretation/Analysis Qs • Does the title contribute to the meaning of the poem? • What voice is heard? • Are there any unusual or difficult words? • What is the main idea? • What connections are made? • Are there lines or stanzas that need further explanation?

    5. Interpretation/Analysis Qscontinued… • Why is the format important? • How the poem relate to real life? • Is there intentional meaning/symbols? • Does the structure of the pome help to convey it’s purpose and meaning? • What does the poem ultimately do, or mean, for the reader?

    6. More… • Form? Patterns? • Rhyme? • Rhythm? • Lines? • Stanzas? • Figurative language? • Tone/Mood? • Imagery (five senses)? • Symbols/Deeper Meaning?

    7. Think about… • What happens in the poem? • Do you enjoy the poem? Why? Why not? • In today’s society, is the poem relevant? • Was the author effective in conveying his/her message through the poem? • What is the theme? • What do you think? • What can you conclude?

    8. A little bit more… • How does this compare to other poems you have read? • Base on what you know, what can you say about the poet’s life? • What info supports your interpretation?
