Great Plains Fish Habitat Partnership
The Great Plains Fish Habitat Partnership collaborates to conserve aquatic resources across rivers and streams in ten Central U.S. states, covering an area of 636,833 square miles. This initiative involves multiple partners, including U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and spans over various freshwater ecoregions, landscapes, and Native American reservations. With a focus on habitat assessment for 668 aquatic species, the partnership aims to identify priority catchments for restoration and protection to maintain healthy fish populations and support local economies.
