The euro symbol - € • Three criteria: • To be highly recognisable symbol of Europe • To have visual link with existing well known currency symbols • To have an aesthetically pleasing design and to be easy to write by hand  Inspired by the Greek letter epsilon  First letter of the word“Europe”  Two parallel lines indicate the stability of the euro
