DMU Dubai scholarships and discounts terms and conditions 2022/23 Early Application Discount Intake: September 2022 Early application deadline: 30 September 2022 Early application discount: AED 7,000 Terms and Conditions •The Early Application discount will be awarded to any student (foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate) applying and paying tuition fee deposit by the required deadline. •De Montfort University Dubai International Year Zero programme students who are progressing to their undergraduate degrees in September 2022 are not eligible to apply for this discount. •To avail of this discount, students must apply and pay a non-refundable deposit (if accepted by the university) against their tuition fee which can be paid by cheque or bank transfer on or before the Early Application Discount deadline as stated above •UAE-based students eligible for the early application discount must pay the remainder of their tuition fees by post-dated cheque (up to ten instalments), which will be collected no later than the date of registration. •International students eligible for the early application discount may pay the remainder of their tuition fees either by international bank transfer (up to four instalments) or by post-dated cheque from a UAE bank account (up to ten instalments •The Early Application discount amount will be distributed equally across the tuition fee payment instalment plan. •This discount is applicable for students who have received an Unconditional Offer Letter or a Conditional Offer Letter from the university. Students who have received a Conditional Offer Letter must provide the remaining documents to receive an Unconditional Offer Letter from the university before the start of the academic year. In case a student does not meet the conditions required, his/her admission and early application discount both will become void and any tuition fee paid will be refunded back to the student. •For the avoidance of doubt, the advance payment of the fees paid is non-refundable if an unconditional offer letter has been issued to the applicant. •The Early Application Discount cannot be exchanged for cash or be transferred •There is a set budget for scholarships every year and the university reserves the right to withdraw, amend or discontinue any scholarship/discount from time to time.

  2. •The university reserves the right to cancel any award of scholarship/discount if a student is found in breach of any guidelines set by the university or has falsified any information •The decisions made by the university are final and there are no provisions or processes for appeal. •All scholarships and discounts apply to study option at De Montfort University Dubai only and cannot be transferred to other campuses. Academic Merit Scholarships Terms and Conditions •Academic Merit Scholarships will be offered to undergraduate students who have achieved high scores at their previous education. •Postgraduate students are not eligible for Academic Merit Scholarship •All decisions regarding scholarship eligibility are at the discretion of the DMU Dubai Admissions team and/or relevant Subject Head after evaluating scores of individual relevant subjects •Students commencing an International Year Zero programme in the Academic Year 22/23 and who have achieved high scores at their previous education will be eligible for the Academic Merit Scholarship on commencement of their foundation year (Year Zero) at the discretion of the DMU Dubai Admissions team •Those eligible for an Academic Merit Scholarship will receive a either a 20%, 25% or 30% discount of their net tuition fees •The value of the Academic Merit Scholarship is dependent on the student’s marks in their previous education •The table below details these thresholds for commonly used qualifications • Percentage of tuition fee discount IB A Levels CBSE IYZ Progression Diploma 30% AAB /A*A* 37+ 90+ 80% 25% ABB / A*A / 33-36 80 - 89.9 75% BBB / A*B / AA / CCB / A*C / AB 20% 30-32 70 - 79.9 70% •All decisions regarding eligibility and equivalence is at the discretion of DMU Dubai Admissions team and/or relevant Subject Head •The Academic Merit Scholarship offered will normally be calculated on the net tuition fee of the first year.

  3. •Occasionally, and at the discretion of the Admissions team Scholarships will be calculated against the gross fee •The Academic Merit Scholarship offered will be distributed equally across the instalment payments made by the student per year. •Progressing DMU Dubai IYZ students who achieve high marks in their foundation year will be eligible for the Academic Merit Scholarship as they enter Year 1 of their undergraduate degree at DMU Dubai •Students will continue to be eligible for an Academic Merit Scholarship in each subsequent year of study if the following criteria are met: oThe student was awarded an Academic Merit Scholarship in their previous year of study oThe student continues studying at the DMU Dubai Campus on an undergraduate programme oAn overall average mark of 70% is achieved by the student in each subsequent year of study (including where marks have been rounded up to 70% during the assessment board process) oTherefore, if a student achieves an overall average mark of 70% ((including where marks have been rounded up to 70% during the assessment board process) at the end of their first year he/she will be eligible for the Academic Merit Scholarship in their second year of study oSimilarly, if a student achieves an overall average mark of 70% (including where marks have been rounded up to 70% during the assessment board process) at the end of their second year he/she will be eligible for the Academic Merit Scholarship in their third year of study. oA student who meets the above eligibility criteria in their third year of study, but did not meet the eligibility criteria in their second year will not be eligible to receive the Academic Merit Scholarship during their third year of study oTo continue to be eligible students must meet the terms and conditions of their tuition fee payment plan oThe value of the scholarship awarded in the first year will be maintained in each subsequent academic year for those that continue to achieve an overall average mark of 70% (including where marks have been rounded up to 70% during the assessment board process) oTherefore, a student who was awarded an Academic Scholarship which entitled them to a 20% discount of net tuition fees will, providing he/she maintains an overall average mark of 70% in each subsequent year, continue to receive a 20% discount of net tuition fees for that academic year •Recipients of a scholarship or discount must have no outstanding debt to the university at the point of the Academic Merit Scholarship being awarded. •Decisions made by the DMU Dubai regarding eligibility for all discounts and scholarships are final. Awards are made at the full and sole discretion of DMU Dubai. •DMU Dubai will use its website to advertise the terms and conditions in relation to this award. •The Academic Merit Scholarship award is not transferable and cannot be deferred to an earlier or later start date, except at the full and sole discretion of DMU Dubai •No cash alternatives will be offered.

  4. •Awards cannot be transferred to another recipient. •DMU Dubai reserves the right to cancel any award at any time which has been claimed fraudulently including on the basis of provision of false information to claim the award, and to apply the full tuition fee. If an award is found to have been claimed fraudulently, the award amount will be added to the student’s university account and must be paid in full before the end of the student’s course. •Where a student who has been awarded the Academic Merit Scholarship terminates or interrupts their studies prior to the completion of their first year of study, the award will be pro‐rated, based on the student’s last date of attendance and a calculation of the student’s outstanding Tuition fee will be made upon the student’s last date of study. •By accepting the Academic Merit Scholarship, students agree to accept these full terms, conditions and rules of the scholarship and agree to abide by the university rules and any requirements and/or proceedings issued by DMU Dubai in relation to the scholarship. •The University reserves the right to cancel any award of scholarship/discount if a student is found in breach of any guidelines set by the University or has falsified any information •The decisions made by the university are final and there are no provisions or processes for appeal. •All scholarships and discounts apply to study option at De Montfort University Dubai only and cannot be transferred to other campuses. •There is a set budget for scholarships every year and the university reserves the right to withdraw, amend or discontinue any scholarship/discount from time to time. •Other terms and conditions may apply for each scholarship
