    3. Myths If women were educated they would not menstruate and could no longer produce male children. Feared the loss of romance arguing that if men & women learned together the mysterious attraction between the sexes would evaporate. At recess girls are given jump ropes and boys are given kick balls. What if a girl wants a kick ball? (Bigger playground area) Women cannot risk their health by learning math, science & philosophy because they have no use for it. Girls are smaller, weaker, slower, and not good in sports.

    4. History Timeline of Women in College 1950’s women would attend college to meet their husbands. A form of finishing school. 1960’s an official women’s rule book was distributed limiting them to the types of activities, men could freely do. 1970’s rule book discarded completely. Sexist comments were starting to be experienced and 68% of women received unwanted attention from men. 1980’s sororities and fraternities were formed & more emphasis was placed on fraternities.

    5. Self-Esteem Boys are content with who they are while girls are not. (This is at time of puberty) One important retain their self-esteem is because they are good at a lot of things. Self-esteem higher in males because of more confidence in their athletic ability. Girls do not think adults them to be able to do things because throughout school they are interrupted in attempts to accomplish things on their own. Girls are more worried about social success and boys look to males to receive approval.
