This study focuses on the use of an indentation apparatus to assess discomfort and pain thresholds associated with the mechanical properties of foot tissue in vivo. Two testing locations—the foot center (FC) and heel pad (HP)—are highlighted for conducting indentation tests. Key points of interest include areas at the first and fifth metatarsal heads and the medial and lateral plantar arches. The findings aim to enhance understanding of foot pain mechanisms and improve rehabilitation strategies. (Xiong, Goonetilleke, Witana, Rodrigo, 2010)
