Short History • Mission: To fund both basic and applied research to help dogs and people live longer, healthier lives. • American Kennel Club saw the need to support canine health research • They’ve contributed $ million so far • Founded in 1995 • First Grant Co-Sponsored with Morris Animal Foundation

  3. Since 1995... • More than 400 studies funded • Canine Genome Mapping • Genetics of Disease • Clinical Studies • Educational Programs • $18 million allocated to canine health research

  4. In just 12 years… • More than 80 universities, research institutions and educational organizations funded • 214 researchers funded • Nearly 200 clubs, individuals and other organizations sponsoring research
