  19. Constructing a Fire Pit • Make sure a certain distance from tent • Cut sod in a rectangle • Also make a center cut • Use shovel to dig out the two pieces • Set sod aside • Replace when it’s time to go home • Add stones around pit • Add wood • Start fire • Set up kitchen irons

  20. What Happens if it Rains? • Dig trench around tent • Drain water away from tent

  21. Safety Regulations • Fire pit certain feet away from tent • Add rocks around pit • Have emergency equipment nearby • Women watch your petticoats
