Summer in maximum places of US is a beautiful and wonderful time of year for the children. The weather is pleasant and there is so much to do – swimming, boating, hiking- trekking, making a sandcastle on sea beaches, etc. But along with all this fun, one has to experience the damaging effect of the sun, and childcare San Dimas, CA thinks that sun safety should be practiced all year- round though the grade of safety should be enhanced during summer. The following precautions should be taken by the children to avoid sunburn, dehydration, and other summer-related problems. Most of the Montessori caregivers think that it is essential to make children aware of the risks of sunburn and heatstroke and how ultra-violate rays can harm the skin so that they themselves take the needed precautions before going outside. Using sunscreen can be regarded as the number one summer safety tip. Apply a good quality sunscreen not only on the face and neck of the children. The application of ample use of sunscreen is need on all exposed areas. Buy a sunscreen with SPF 30 and those are specially made for the children. Reapply the sunscreen every two hours or after swimming because water removes most of the cream from the skin.

  2. Do not allow your children to remain outside under the burning sun for a long time at a stretch. Tell them to take a break from the sun by going indoors or moving into the shades. Avoid outdoor activity between 10. a.m. and 4 p.m. when sun rays are the strongest. Encourage your children to wear sunglasses and an umbrella. Sunglasses with ultra-violate protection for children are available in the market. Staying hydrated is the most important thing in summer. Summer means lots of sweating and body fluids are drain out from the body and make the body dehydrated. Unless you compensate it at the right time, it may create problems. Kids have a natural apathy of not drinking plain natural water all the time of year. Drinking water may seem boring to them. Rather, they get attracted when they see the advertisements of different packaged drinks on the TV. But we all know that packaged drinks contain preservatives, artificial colors, and chemicals that are harmful to children in the long run. Make healthy tasty drinks at home using fresh fruits, vegetables, milk, and yogurt. Tell your children to make their own drink according to their taste. It will be an interesting activity for them. Pack those drinks along with plain water in their bag for them when they go out in the sun so that they can drink those juices when they feel thirsty. Make your children dress in a light-colored cotton fabric. Cotton being the natural fiber absorbs sweat and allows air circulation inside the garment and keeps the body cool. In spite of taking all these precautions, if your children get seek immediately consult a physician. We are enrolling kids from Diamond Bar CA, Pomona CA, San Dimas CA, Chino Hills CA and Chino CA locations.
