  2. Our history • Started 2012 to bring young professionals at RIT together • Weekly lunches • Evolved to committees for professional development, social networking • Current governing board of about 12 members • 215 members on mailing list • 20 + events a year

Our goals • To advance the careers of young professionals at RIT by providing networking and professional development opportunities for our members. • To support the professional development of individuals working in higher education through a yearly conference, professional networking events, and social activities. • Create and sustain a high standard in the recognition, recruitment and selection of young professionals for leadership positions within the university. • Cultivate and increase relationships amongst local young professional organizations with similar goals and objectives.

  5. Marketing CommitteeChair: Nancy Dimock (nxdics@rit.edu) The Marketing Committee promotes projects and events organized by the RIT Young Professionals. Additionally, the committee manages and collects content for RITYP social media accounts, websites, and the bi-weekly e-newsletters. The committee is also responsible for creating marketing and branding materials.

  6. Professional DevelopmentChair: Stephanie Haynes The Professional Development Committee organizes seminars, workshops, and other professional development programming for our members. In addition, this committee researches and shares information on RIT's existing professional development opportunities.

  7. Social NetworkingChairs: Katie Beczak (kmbges@rit.edu) and Nilay Sapio (nxyirp@rit.edu) • The Social Committee organizes or identifies events to bring members of RIT Young Professionals together for professional networking in social settings, such as happy hours, tailgates, meet-and-greets with other professional groups, and concerts. It is a great way to get to know one another outside of campus and have as much fun as possible while expanding your professional network!

  8. Conference PlanningChair: Liz Bremer (eabcrp@rit.edu) The Conference Planning Committee  organizes the annual RIT Young Professionals in Higher Education Conference. This involves identifying partners, sponsors and speakers, as well as coordinating event logistics. Members and volunteers are always welcomed. Contact Liz Bremer if you are interested.

  9. RecruitmentChair: Don Denz (dpdiao@rit.edu) New committee! Goals: • Establish measurable recruitment goals • Identify strategies to increase diversity of RITYP membership • Recommend marketing activities to achieve recruitment goals • Create a report assessing success of recruitment activities and recommend next steps
