TEACHER RECOMMENDATION REQUEST • Why are you choosing this teacher? • What about this teacher’s class impressed you? • What did you learn that you will take from that class? • What constituted your most significant experience in that class? • Make sure your reflection is specific and at least 2 paragraphs. Your teacher may use this when writing your letter of recommendation. Please give this exercise serious thought.

  8. COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS • Use Family Connection as a resource • Apply on line - school application - common application - coalition application • Check deadlines (application and financial aid)

  9. PROCESS (CONT.) • Review application check list for each school • Release SAT and/or ACT scores to each of your schools (self reporting/test optional schools) • www.Collegeboard.org www.actstudent.org • Complete Transcript Request Forms (gold sheets – one for each school)

  10. PROCESS (CONT.) • Students make an appointment with their counselor: • Bring completed gold sheets • Bring 2 copies of your resume • Plan on meeting for a full period *We will take care of the rest*
