  4. I. Enthusiastic Service • Romans 12:1 • I plead with you • Give your bodies to God – because of all He has done for you • This is truly the way to worship Him

  5. John 4:23 - 24 (NLT)23But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way.  24For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

  6. Romans 12:9-11 • Honor each other (NASB – Prefer others before yourself) • Never be lazy • Work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically • (NIV – keep your spiritual fervor serving the Lord) • Most say “keep my spiritual fervor by serving me”

  7. 1 Peter 4:10-11 • Variety of gifts • Use them to serve one another • Bring glory to God through Jesus

Values Choice and Outcome • Haggai – an application for our time • It’s time to rebuild my house • You’ve neglected mine for the sake of your own (you live in luxurious houses while mine lies in ruins) • Results - Look at what’s happening to you • Fruitless works and dissatisfied • Go to the hills, bring down timber and rebuild my house

  9. The people began to obey God’s message • The Lord sparked the enthusiasm of the people • They began the work on September 21st

  10. Remember this house in its former splendor? • Now in comparison it must seem like nothing at all • But now the Lord says – (God’s perspective) • My Spirit remains among you • I will fill this place with glory • The future glory of this temple will be greater than its past glory • In this place I will bring peace

  11. Results of obedience • Look what was happening before you began to lay the foundation • Promise – from this day onward I will bless you

  12. III. Opportunity to Build the Lord’s House • My appeal – I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you • Building the Kingdom

  13. Opportunity – God’s adventure in spiritual service • Events and On-going • This Thursday evening pot luck meal – camp conquest families outreach and introductions to the ministries of PFC (including gift food box)

  14. Wednesday evenings starting in October • Catered meals • English classes • Youth ministry • Children’s ministry • Nursery • Adult studies possibilities – Spanish and English • GKGW

  15. Wednesday, September 3rd – Back-to-school bash • Sunday, September 21st – Motorcycle rally “they began the work on the house of their God on September 21st.”

  16. Serving with enthusiasm that God gives • Keeping your spiritual fervor serving the Lord • Not for you, but by you – or for you, but indirectly so • Blessing • Satisfaction
