Weu2019ve heard you talking about us animals and we know that youu2019ve been giving us a BAD reputation! You say that weu2019re spooky and ugly and creepy and crawly and icky and ewwy and downright gross. But these are rumours and theyu2019re just plain MEAN. Spiders Youu2019re never more than a metre away from me or one of my spider pals. Thatu2019s right - weu2019re EVERYWHERE. Thatu2019s all NONSENSE! Spiders are SO good for the environment. They eat bugs, recycle their own webs by eating them and are a vital food source for birds, frogs, lizards and even other spiders. Sharks Thereu2019s nothing we like more than skulking around in murky water, looking for humans. Thatu2019s just RIDICULOUS! Sharks have amazingly thick skin. This is to keep them warm and to support all of their super strong muscles. (It also means insults donu2019t bother them.) Skunk My favourite thing to do is SPRAY people with my terrible STENCH. From where, I hear you ask? FROM MY BUM! Give me a BREAK! They are very non-aggressive animals, and spraying is the only defence they have against danger. Rats I hang out in the DIRTIEST places. I love sewers because they smell just like me - gross and stinky! How RIDICULOUS! Rats have really brilliant memories and scientists have discovered that they can remember human faces theyu2019ve seen before. Snakes I spend my time waiting for you to step on me so I can bite your ankle. Iu2019m just mean like that. Thatu2019s just SSSSILLY! Not all snakes are venomous. In fact, only 10% are dangerous to humans. Crocodiles When youu2019re close enough Iu2019ll JUMP OUT of the water as if from nowhere, snapping my MASSIVE toothy jaws! Oh, COME ONu2026 Crocodiles donu2019t sit with their mouths open because theyu2019re angry u2013 theyu2019re letting off steam! They sweat through their mouths and thi s is how they cool off. Scorpions My tail is the worst part about me. It has a massive STINGING NEEDLE on the end of it, filled with terror and unimaginable pain! Come on now! Iu2019m not THAT bad. Incredibly, scorpions can survive for up to a YEAR without food! They slow down their metabolism when food is scarce. Killer Whales Iu2019m big enough to overturn your boat and we work in groups to make sure it sinks! Wait a second! Youu2019ve got it all WRONG! Weu2019re too intelligent, big and majestic to be kept in tanks. We need freedom to roam and stretch our wonderful strong bodies! Jellyfish I have loads of creepy POISONOUS tentacles that Iu2019ll wiggle in your direction! If you so much as touch my jelly-like body, then get ready to get well and truly STUNG. Oh thatu2019s just RIDICULOUS! There are more than 200 different species of jellyfish around the world and theyu2019ve been around for roughly 500 MILLION years! They were even here before the dinosaurs! Angler Fish Iu2019m the UGLIEST fish around and I lurk in the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean. Itu2019s so dark down here that itu2019s almost impossible to see anything. Hold on a second! Let me throw some LIGHT on the situation. I wonu2019t hurt you unless youu2019re a tasty crustacean. Are you a crustacean? No? Well then letu2019s be FRIENDS! Scary Dogs We love getting into fights and showing everyone how tough we are. Guys, youu2019re barking up the wrong tree! Pit bulls were actually bred to be good, loyal companions to humans.<br>
