  1. Using Interactive Projectors in ESL Culver City Adult School

  2. My Project • Work with ESL teachers using BriteLink interactive projectors with two applications • “Active Teach” presentation software for our course texts (Futurelevels 1-2) • Interactive projector tools • For documents, images, etc. outside the Future software

  3. What We’ve Done So Far • 3 teachers are using the projector and at least one of the applications daily • Our classes meet 4 days per week

  4. Impact on Student Learning • “I've received positive comments from students who say that it’s easier for them to follow along with the class.” • “I’ve noted improved student participation.” • “Students can more easily focus on a particular grammar point or language concept.” • “I've noticed greater awareness of and response to the material.”

  5. Impact on Teaching • “…allows me to focus the class on subject matter quite easily through its zoom function.” • “I especially like the ‘post-it note’ feature for brainstorming with the class and saving their ideas for future reference.”

  6. Challenges • Switching from one application to the other while teaching • Computer not responding • Classroom lighting alters the projected image
