4. Indicators for planning for curriculum delivery Phase level planning is completed before the start of the new school year. The team of teachers contribute to the planning in a meaningful way. Plans indicate progression across grades for contexts (from familiar to more distant) and levels of challenges. HoDs take an active role in the planning for curriculum delivery. Resources required for curriculum delivery are sourced in good time. A variety of learner activities is planned, that take different learner needs and learning styles into account. Different methods and tools for assessment are planned. Care is taken to plan for realistic time allocations. The work schedule is consistent with the broader phase plans.
5. Indicators for implementing curriculum delivery Teachers prepare for every lesson carefully A routine of lesson delivery is established. Learners arrive promptly at class and settle down to work. Pace setters (Curriculum management and support booklet pp.13-15) are used to guide curriculum delivery. Teachers use the predictability framework (Curriculum management and support booklet pp.11-13) to report on the pace of delivery. Teachers share their experiences in the classroom to learn from one another. When implementation falls behind, plans are made to catch up. Teachers and HoDs work cooperatively to ensure quality teaching.
