  1. 3 A Doctrine For Dispensations

  2. Patriarchal Age • Adam & Eve to Moses Genesis 2:16-17 …the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." (NKJV)

  3. Mosaic Era • Moses to the Death of Christ

  4. Christian Era • Death of Christ Until His Return (Ac. 1:4-5) “not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father…” “you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

  5. Christian Era • Death of Christ Until His Return John 16:13 (NKJV) 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

  6. Christian Era Acts 1:15–26 (NKJV) 15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said, 16 “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus; 17 for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry.”…

  7. Christian Era 18 (Now this man purchased a field with the wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his entrails gushed out. 19 And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, AkelDama, that is, Field of Blood.) 20 “For it is written in the Book of Psalms: ‘Let his dwelling place be desolate, And let no one live in it’; and, ‘Let another take his office.’ 21 “Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us…

  8. Christian Era 22 beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.” 23 And they proposed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24 And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen 25 to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.” 26 And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

  9. Christian Era Acts 1:20 (NKJV) 20 “For it is written in the Book of Psalms…‘Let another take his office.’

  10. 3 • Patriarchal: Don’t eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil • Mosaic: Here are the Lord’s 10 commandments (and a long list of laws to follow later under the entire Mosaic system) • Christian: The Holy Spirit will come and He will guide you so that you will know all truth (i.e. what you are to do). In the next several years inspired men would receive instructions by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Dispensations One Consistent Message

  11. The Need For Biblical Authority Today Philippians 3:17 (NKJV) 17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. • “join in following my example” συμμιμητής “summimhtai” - fellow imitator; one who copies the actions of someone else • “a pattern”: τύπος “tupos” - To imitate someone else. To replicate their actions.

  12. The Need For Biblical Authority Today Galatians 3:27 (NKJV) 27 …as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

  13. The Need For Biblical Authority Today 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV) 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

  14. The Need For Biblical Authority Today Romans 16:17 (NKJV) 17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
