The project content – egi.nordic • Representation in EGI Council • Project Manager, Chair of Steering Group • Participation in EGI-driven projects and project proposals to H2020 Technical content of project • Coordinating processes for developing content • Selecting services or work packages for participation

Project Manager tasks • Coordination of the Nordic interests • Supervising the participation of personnel in sub-projects • Stakeholder engagement • Preparing and coordinating project steering group meetings • Communication with national participants • Representation in EGI.eu governance • Coordinating participation in EGI-related working groups and task forces • Coordinating participation in proposal preparations • Reporting

  10. Project personnel • Participation in EGI.eu-directed projects, organised within egi.nordic as sub-projects • Technical integration with Nordic or national services

Funding of egi.nordic – possible model • EGI.eu participation fee • Currently: 303.853 €, 180 votes, four countries • Proposed: 43.407—173.630 €, 30—70 votes, NeIC representing five countries NeIC funds 50%, co-funding partners share the remaining 50% • H2020 projects directed by EGI.eu • NeIC covers partof matching funds, sub-project partners covers the remaining part of matching funds though in-kind or other. • NeIC allocation from Generic Area Budget • Large budget allocations to the NeIC Board

Risks • Lack of engagement from national provider organisations • Lack of impact due to EGI.eu governance (many partners) • Misalignment btw national and EGI (pan-European) visions • Little value for money • Competing interests EGI, PRACE, EUDAT – leading NeIC into a difficult position related to national stakeholders

  13. Is there a synergy? - facilitate development and operation of high quality e-infrastructure solutions in areas of joint Nordic interest - support the digital European Research Area through a pan-European research infrastructure…

  14. Will egi.nordic support the Nordic researchcommunity by • Supporting collaboration on e-Infrastructure in the Nordic region? • Providing added value to (Nordic) researchers and national funders? • Contributing to more cost-efficient development and deployment of e-Infrastructure services (in the Nordics)? • Supporting the national e-Infrastructure providers in terms of competence building, task sharing and joint operation of services?
