  5. Holy, Holy, Holy. A passage from the Gospel according to Saint Luke (4:38-41), may his blessings be upon us all. Amen. Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So He bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, ‘‘You are the Son of God!'' But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew He was the Christ. Glory Be To God Forever, Amen

  7. Personal Prayers

  8. Welcome! • Rules • Do not talk while the servant is talking. Do not interrupt class. • Do not get out of your seat without asking (by raising your hand). • Be respectful to everyone else around you. • Participate • If you have to use the bathroom or get water, try to wait until the end of class.

  9. Consequences: • First time: warning • Second time: Sit outside class for 5 minutes • Third time: Sent to the social hall for the entire time and call parents

  10. Ice Breaker! • Yes or No Game • You will be asked a bunch of questions, but you can’t respond with yes or no or shake your heads • If you say yes or no, you’re out • Last one left wins

  11. Feast of the Cross • What are we celebrating this weekend and how many times a year do we celebrate this feast? Does anyone know the story of Queen Helena? What does the cross mean to you? • “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their CROSS and follow Me" (Mt 16:24). • Self-denial is for the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ. If we grasp the earthly, we will lose sight of the eternal
