  3. Background of CHSMES • 13th year of CHSMES. • 3 principals prior to the current principal • 1998-2008 staff turnover of 30 people. • 2008 – additional 4 staff members • 135 students K4-Grade 5

  4. Six Year Plan Literacy Goal: • By 2015, 100% of CHSMES students will achieve “appropriate achievement” on the Grade 2 & 4 Literacy Provincial Achievement Exams.; and 25% of those CHSMES students will demonstrate “Strong Achievement”. Numeracy Goal: • By 2015, 100% of CHSMES students will achieve “appropriate achievement” on the Grade 3 & 5 Mathematic Provincial Achievement Exams.; and 25% of those CHSMES students will demonstrate “Strong Achievement”. Cultural Goals: • By 2015, 100% of CHSMES students will be exposed to a variety of First Nation traditional teachings and ceremonies. Students will also be exposed to language teachings in each grade. Physical Education Goal: • By 2015, 100% of CHSMES grade 5 students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Students will be exposed to a variety of activities/sports and competitions with the school setting as well as local school district.

  5. Six Year Plan Community Participation Goal: • By 2015, Parents/guardians of CHSMES students will be actively involved in the school with various activities. Activities will include parent literacy coaches, volunteering with breakfast, lunch or extra-curricular activities, etc. Technology Goals: • By 2015, CHSMES classrooms will be equipped with up to date technology allowing students the opportunity to learn with the latest educational technology tools School Improvement Goal: • An ongoing evaluation of school atmosphere, values and professionalism will be monitored and the staff at CHSMES will be implementing initiatives that contribute to the overall improvement of the school.
