    2. Contract Administration Goal: To ensure that the contract is performed and the responsibilities of both parties are properly discharged. To achieve this, the primary responsibility of the Department of Housing is to oversee, monitor and provide technical guidance to vendors performing under a contract. Effective contract administration presents a continuing opportunity to minimize or eliminate problems and potential claims and disputes.

    3. Contract Administration Routine Functions: Oversight Review of Work Progress Monitoring Invoice Processing Change Management Documentation and Filing Performance Reviews Contract Closeout

    4. WHY? The quarterly “Vendor Performance Report” gives the Housing Department’s contract administrators an opportunity to provide feedback to the vendors in a more timely and structured manner than has occurred in the past. This opens up a line of communication that is valuable to both the Department of Housing and its partners in the vendor community.

    5. Partnering The establishment of a mutually beneficial relationship with a vendor or contractor for the specific performance of work where the relationship is trusting and supportive rather than adversarial.
