Chute Pond – Thu, Sep 25 Temp 70º, 1 hour & 10 minutes on water; skies were overcast with the sun breaking through a few times. The water was smooth as glass, though the wind did pick up on the return trip.

Chute Pond – Thu, Sep 25 • Temp 70º, 1 hour & 10 minutes on water; skies were overcast with the sun breaking through a few times. The water was smooth as glass, though the wind did pick up on the return trip. • We put in at the Oconto County public boat landing, off Y-Camp Rd, near Kitty’s Bar & Grill. Each vehicle paid $3 to use the landing. • We paddled to the north and east, passing the Everbreeze Resort. We turned back when just north of Ken Boyle’s cottage. (He put on new shingles this week.) • We saw a heron. • We went to Kitty’s II Grill & Bar for supper, where we met Ken Boyle. Paddling Friends
Participants (in tandem canoes): • Dallas and Ann Marie Wixom • Mike & Rita Shores • We were scheduled to paddle Anderson Lake, but the boat landing is in the process of reconstruction. • So we went to Chute Pond; The Fire Quacker 500 duck race was held there last Saturday, so the water level has been restored after repairing the dam this summer.
