  2. Page 1 • This Flip Chart will help you learn about Character Education! We will look at Art from the Embracing Our Differences Exhibition and Character Education words that go along with the Art...like the first word: Responsibility!

  3. Page 2 • People are responsible for: • Themselves (and their own behavior) • Taking care of each other • Animals, Birds • Trees, Nature: • These are a few people that have a lot of RESPONSIBILITY!

  4. Page 3 • Name some things for which they are responsible: • President • Bus Driver • Doctor • Parent • Firefighter • EMT • Policeman • Student • Crossing Guard

  5. Page 4 • The Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C

  6. Page 5 • It says: "I still have a dream." • Who first said "I have a dream..." in a famous civil rights speech? • The artist asks us..."Shouldn't all dreams be created equal?" • What would a good citizen say? • What does our Constitution say?

  7. Page 6 • There are a LOT of people in this picture! Who are they looking at? • What emotions do you see on their faces? • Which people did you look at first? Why? • Name some things that some of these people might be thinking about. Could this be a celebration? Why or why not? • Think of some things that some of these people might be happy about... or something they might be grateful for.

  9. Page 8 • Imagine what you would you feel like if you were the athlete in the wheel chair? • What do you think is more important........being first or being kind

  10. Page 10 • Have you ever heard of a president who was called "Honest Abe"?

  11. Page 11 • If I try to understand others... I may be understood better as well. • If I accept others... I will be accepted. • If I am respectful of others...I will be respected.
