  3. Training Program • This PowerPoint will help train you in Safety Patrol and answer many questions you might have. • You of course can always ask Coach Ray any questions personally. • Please click the space bar.

  4. About Coach Ray • Hello, this is my 9th year as a Sparta PE coach. I love working with students to achieve success and have a since of pride. I have helped with safety patrol for 8 years now and I am excited that you are in the training process and about to start patrol soon. • Please click the space bar

  5. Overview of Safety Patrol • Goal:Safety Patrol students are to be used as a resource to ensure the safety of students at Sparta Elementary. • Grade Levels Involved: 5th, 4th, and 3rd • Please click the space bar.

  8. Cafeteria Duty • Monitor students. • Help students find places to sit. • Must report for duty by 7:15 if a car rider or ASAP if a bus rider wearing a yellow vest. • This does not include students handling the trays, cleaning up spills and mopping. • Please click the space bar

  10. Restroom Duty • Monitor students going to restroom. • Only 4 boys and 4 girls are allowed in the restrooms at a time. • This does not include disciplining students. • Please click the space bar

Front Porch Duty • Students must stay on a tiger paw until the car in front or to side of paw has come to a complete stop(a reference point can be such that tire writings can be seen on the tires themselves). • Safety patrol members do not go to a car window and ask for a students name. • Please click the space bar.

Front Porch Duty • When opening a door if a student is struggling with a backpack or other items help them on the sidewalk and then send them towards the covered porch area. • Once the student is clear of the car door, you may shut the door and be sure not to slam the door. • When it is rainy there are Parkas available and vests do not need to be worn. • Please click the space bar.

Front Porch Duty • Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for cold weather days • AM duty students need to report by 7:15am if a car rider or ASAP if a bus rider and be wearing a yellow vest. • PM duty do not need to leave class till 2:45pm in order to be on time for duty. • This does not include assisting with students crossing the street. • Please click the space bar.

Flags • Raise and lower the flags. • Handle with respect and properly store the flags. • A student must report to assist with the car line at 7:15AM and then raise the flags at 7:25AM wearing a yelloow vest. • A student must report to lower the flags at no earlier than 2:40PM. • This does not include discussion on whether or not to raise the flag due to weather. • Please click the space bar.

  17. Safety Patrol Office • Place your backpack and things next to the wall under the whiteboard. • Please be sure to punch in your time card into the time clock machine. Then make sure it is placed in the check in section of the time card holders. • Check to see if you are inside or outside duty by looking at the list’s next to the whiteboard. • Put on your jacket and gloves(if needed), and then the safety patrol vest. • After duty, make sure your vest is hung on the hooks, you have your belongings, and you rush to class. Reward Points • Every time you punch in on time for safety patrol, before 7:15AM, and no earlier than 2:45PM, you earn a point. • When you receive 5 points, you earn 1 pride pass. • If you have 15 check in’s, you earn an invite to a safety patrol game day in the Sparta gym after your duty window ends. This includes donuts and juice. • Please click the space bar.
