  1. Brad Mendez Breaking the Norm. To begin with, Iknew breaking a norm would linkto conflict theory because it would anger everyone around me. Because of that, I was nervous as I was waiting to check out at 7/11.Then I walked up to the counter and got ready to pay.

  2. When I started to pull out the coins from my pocket and spill them on the counter I saw the clerks eyes roll so far behind his head I couldn’t help but put a huge smirk on my face. About 30 seconds into counting he looked up to me as the man in the picture is below. At that point I really just wanted to pull out a couple dollars drop them on the counter, and walk out. Then I realized he was not the only one angry when I heard sighs from people behind me. Although I was extremely embarrassed I turned around to smile at the three people behind me. When I finally got out of 7/11 I ran to my car , started it up , and sped off. At that point I was just embarrassed and nervous to see the people who were waiting in line staring at me.

  3. When I finally got out of 7/11 I ran to my car , started it up , and sped off. At that point I was just embarrassed and nervous to see the people who were waiting in line staring at me. When I got home and thought about what just happened I realized today’s society is growing to be very impatient . The norm for checking out at a register is to haveyour money and items ready when its your turn.
