Hartford Police Department Accomplishments FY 09-10 • Historic low in Part 1 Crime – 7,935 • 2009 Safest Summer in five years – without state police • Noise enforcement increased by over 500 percent • “We will Never Forget” support to homicide victim families • Gun Buy Back Program coordinated with area hospitals • Anti-Auto Theft Club Distribution Community Outreach • Expansion of Truancy Reduction Program • Sex Offender Registry Unit No. 1 in State Compliance • Mounted Patrol Unit operational • Sports Mentoring Program – Girls Soccer League at MLK and Naylor Elementary Schools • Our Piece of the Pie Summer Youth Art Program at HPD HQ • Peacebuilders collaboration with Office of Youth Services
