  2. What are Aligners? Aligner are basically series of customized clear removable plastic trays which help problems of teeth such as crooked teeth, spacing between teeth, bite issues in a very comfortable way basically an alternative to braces. In good old days when there was only an option for correcting the problems mentioned above using metal or ceramic braces which are fixed on to the teeth and a metal wire is attached to these braces. There were a lot of issues associated with braces like discomfort, lacerations due to the metal wire, multiple appointments also emergency appointments due to some breakages.

  3. So now a days multiple companies marketing clear aligners be it DIY aligners or clear aligners by dentist or clear aligners by an orthodontist. Now it is very important for a patient to decide wisely which option he/ she should go for. Amongst all the clear aligners one company which pops up is the Invisalign clear aligners which have been established for many years now and works with orthodontists and are very result oriented. Now lets see another company which believes in DIY aligners, Toothsi. This company has been marketing very efficiently with a lot influencers and recent funding coming there way. DIY Aligner or Toothsi We keep hearing a lot about DIY dental treatment or DIY aligners.

  4. How do DIY Aligner work? Usually these corporate companies work directly to the consumer, they come to an individual’s home where they scan their consumers teeth and create aligners for them. Now with DIY aligners they treat people as consumers and there are no qualified doctors/orthodontist (specialist to treat crooked teeth) to the results are always compromise. Moreover when an orthodontist is not involved the patient experience pain and discomfort because the computer doesn't know anything regarding tooth movement or rather biology behind tooth movement. We at DentAesthetica regularly have patient treated with DIY aligners like Toothsi where they under pain and there teeth have started to look worse than before.

  5. How does Invisalign work? Invisalign clear aligners have been there for quite a while now they have provided smile to more than 10 millions patients. Invisalign clear aligners work an orthodontist that means if a patient is looking he/she has to get it done from an orthodontist. Now once here an orthodontist is done the clinical examination takes records and develops a treatment plan specific for patient using his/her learning and skills. Now the basic difference between Invisalign aligners and DIY aligners like Toothsi is that a patient gets results and is always in constant touch with his/ her doctor whereas, in the latter there is no one responsible for the patients treatment. Now the patient has to evaluate which is better and whether saving some money is worth playing with his/ her health.
