The problems with the muscles of your jaw or with the parts of the joint itself TMD is usually reserved for the correction of anatomic or disk problems.TMJ Disorder is most common in those 20 to 40 years of age Problems related to your jaw and the joint and the muscles attached to it that control it are known as temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Some of the most common symptoms. Jaws that "lock" in the open- or closed-mouth position. Headaches. Ear-aches. Difficulty opening your mouth wide. Pain in the neck or shoulders. Clicking, popping, or grating sounds in the jaw joint when opening or closing your mouth. A tired feeling on your face.
