  1. TeamTV Functional Review 0910

  2. A look at how things are… • Focus • Not always completely on task • Lack of deadlines/milestones • Planning • Meetings • Films • Development • Not giving our members the necessary coaching to significantly develop • Membership • Fluidity vs. Commitment

  3. Analogy - the Theatre • In a theatre group • A process is followed: • Casting • Rehearsals • Technical Runthroughs • Performance • Without everyone in key areas committing to these events, none of it would be possible.

  4. Analogy - the Theatre • So… • We should showcase all our projects • This can better structure the process • This will motivate everyone to meet a plan with milestones and deadlines, as there is a performance riding on it! • This in turn will give valuable feedback to aid a teaching and learning approach. • And so…

  5. The Idea Following the idea of scheduling, the next logical steps Are the following: • Annual Plan • We move TeamTV to a structure whereby the entire years meetings and activites are planned in advance, with the key aim of improving output. • Members will have advance notice to plan in all activities. • The ‘Team’ in TeamTV • Members work in smaller teams to the project plans. • Teams operate like small businesses in their own right, using their own, and TeamTV’s centrally available, resources.

  6. Implementation To successfully implement what I like to call ‘re-branding’, I feel that a close down period is critical for several reasons: Time: • To Implement better internal communications • To build better external PR • To re-brand group identity • To introduce a new, sustainable website CMS • To introduce a new recruitment drive • For the Executive Committee to establish and agree the annual plan in detail for an unveiling the first meeting back.

  7. To sum up… By this point, we should be able to present the Annual Plan; if there are any major issues these can be discussed at the first meeting. And…

  8. To sum up… • We move from our current approach to favour a curricular, cumulative apporach: • To motivate • To progress • Re-brand group identity • Re-launch TeamTV’s online services • Launch a new recruitment drive • Liaise/network with other film groups • Encourage members to work and make projects independently of the group, and TeamTV ownership, whilst keeping the communication links and support structure in place.
