How to Teach your Kids to Eat EVERYTHING!
Food on the floor. Food on the wall. Food in their hair. Food in your hair. Everywhere but in their sweet little mouths. How do you get your kid to eat everything you place in front of them?
Before you force asparagus down your toddler’s throat, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
There Could Be More to It than just Fussing
There may be a legitimate reason for why your child is rejecting the food. For children who cannot yet talk, you need to be especially careful and observant of their gestures.
For younger children, the chunks may be too big and they are afraid of choking. They also may have an allergy or food sensitivity that gives them uncomfortable symptoms but they are unable to verbalize this.
Realize that food can sometimes become a way for your children to assert control over their lives. If you accept that picky eating is often a phase that lessens over time, you’ll save yourself more than a few white hairs.
On the other hand, if you fight this, whether by forcing or restricting a certain food, it can certainly result in the opposite effect of what you intended.
