  3. CSU Courses • College Algebra I (1 cr) • College Algebra II (1 cr) • Logarithms and Exponentials (1 cr) • Numerical Trigonometry (1 cr) • Analytic Trigonometry (1 cr) • Mathematics for the Social Sciences (3 cr)

  4. CSU Mathematics Placement • One attempt unproctored (from home) • Two attempts proctored for possible credit • Unproctored attempts validated against SAT/ACT scores, survey responses

  5. Developing a Placement Exam • Static Tests • 0.9 reliability correlation (Chronbach’s alpha) • Randomized Tests • Outcomes rule sets – subtests can use any mix of problems, and SAT/ACT scores

  6. Mathematics Placement Exams • Colorado State University (since 2005) • 50 randomized questions • 10,234 proctored exams delivered • 23,252 unproctored exams delivered • University of Wyoming (since 2010) • 50 randomized questions • 1,045 unproctored exams delivered
