Sobey’s: SAP in Retail Operation • Complexity of trying to fit an integrated suite of ERP software into a retail operation. • SAP retail had insufficient core functionality to effectively deal with the high number of transactions in their retail operating environment. • Internal business processes are not in tune with the software’s capabilities. • Processing complexities of retailing make installation difficult.

  3. Reebock International and SAP • SAP supports 115 outlet stores. • SAP system is producing “very high level of stock accuracy” in the stores. • Complexities experienced in development and installation process.

  4. Home Depot and SAP • Made “limited use” of SAP’s consulting services. • Extensive use made of in-house expertise because of their familiarity with their traditional legacy systems.
