Century High School proudly celebrates our impressive academic success during the 2010-11 school year, marking our first year of transformation. We achieved a remarkable Academic Performance Index (API) score of 615, surpassing our growth target of 601, reflecting a 25-point gain! With a 4-year trend showing consistent improvement, we acknowledge our achievements in Math and English Language Arts proficiency. Our school made Safe Harbor, fulfilling the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. We are committed to continuing this momentum in the 2011-12 school year!

Adequate Yearly Progress • A statewide accountability system mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 which requires each state to ensure that all schools and districts make Adequate Yearly Progress. • AYP is based on the CAHSEE grade 10.
Safe Harbor • The school, or subgroup met the criteria for Safe Harbor, which is an alternate method of meeting the AMO if a school or subgrouop shows progress in moving students from scoring at the below proficient level to the proficient level or above on STAR, CAHSEE and/or CAPA.
