  8. Dress Code • No sleeveless shirts • No bedroom attire • No see-through and/or transparent tops or bottoms • NO SAGGING PANTS ALLOWED. Pants are to be worn at waistline • Failure to comply with the dress code will result in students being sent home to change and penalties.

  9. Dress Code Policy Offenses • 1st Offense: Warning • 2nd Offense: Students will be required to attend Saturday Academy • 3rd Offense: Students will receive one (1) day OSS • Additional Offenses: Principal’s discretion based upon his investigation

  10. Cell Phone Policy Cell phones and other electronic devices (MP3 players, iPods, etc.) that are visible or heard will be confiscated. Students who refuse to give up their phones/electronic devices will receive OSS. Purnell Swett High School does not assume any liability for the loss or theft of any cell phone or electronic device. In the event of theft, students should file a report with the School Resource Officer.

  11. Cell Phone Policy Offenses 1st Offense- Teacher confiscates phone/electronic device turns it into office and student may pick up phone at the end of the day. 2nd Offense- Teacher confiscates phone/electronic device and parent will have to pick up (NO EXEMPTION) 3rd Offense- One (1) day OSS 4th Offense- Three (3) day OSS for each offense

  24. Southeastern/Health Athletic Training Scholarship The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a high school senior from Robeson or Bladen County who is pursuing a career in Athletic Training. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000. Applicant must have 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in a college/university that offers an ATEP accredited by the CAATE and attends AT summer camp at SE Lifestyle Center for Rehab. Applications are available in guidance. Deadline: March 31, 2014

  25. NCAE Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Applicants must be North Carolina Residents enrolled in a public high school in their senior year. Criteria for this scholarship include character, community involvement and scholastic achievement.   26. Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS) Students interested in Nursing, Teaching, Allied Health or Medicine; Forgivable Education Loans for Service (FELS) can help you obtain the degree you want. Information may be found online at CFNC.org/FELS. Deadline: April 1, 2014.

North Carolina Bar Association The North Carolina Bar Association is continuing its program of awarding scholarships to children of North Carolina law enforcement officers killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. The application can be accessed by going to the following link https://younglawyers.ncbar.org/resources/scholarships.aspx. The completed application should be returned to the Bar Association by Tuesday April 1, 2014.

  28. State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) Scholarship Foundation, Inc. The scholarship application is available online at http://www.seanc.org/membership/scholarship/ and returned to the Chairperson of the SEANC district of which the parent is a member. All scholarship applications should be completed and postmarked prior to April 15, 2014.

The North Carolina Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation The North Carolina Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization to provide scholarships for students who plan to enter the profession of Accounting. The scholarship award will be $600.00. Please see Ms. Kathy in guidance for application. Applications are due by April 15, 2014.

  30. 2014 Student-View Scholarship Program  Student Insights is sponsoring a scholarship contest for high school seniors. The 2014 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $10,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior College or career school. Students may log on towww.student-view.com and complete a survey. Deadline: April 20, 2014

  33. Prom!!! Ticket sales will be held during all 4 lunches Tuesday March 11 thru Friday March 14. Students will need to see Mr. Josh Locklear to purchase a ticket after 14th. Ticket prices will be $35 for one person and $60 for a couple.

  34. Prom!!! All school rules will be strictly enforced during prom. NO REFUNDS!!!!!!! Students who are suspended on or after March 12 will not be allowed to participate in prom activities. No one will be allowed to enter the building once they have left.

  35. Appropriate Young Men: Tuxedo or Suit; Dress Pants, dress shirt, and dress shoes Young Women: Gowns, fancy short dresses, and other formal wear required.
